Beyond the Cockpit: Essentials of Kayak Touring 9am at Kayaks And Beyond
Description:
So many paddlers try to do all their paddling centered in the middle of the cockpit without ever moving beyond the center of gravity. Most kayaks and paddles are designed to perform beyond the center. Refine your skills by learning to use your body, boat, and blade in unison.  You will learn Forward and Reverse figure 8's edging and bracing.  Learn to lean and turn your boat in a circle in place.  Our class in intermediate skills will teach you  to go "Beyond the Cockpit".  You will gain skills and confidence to venture into wind, waves, or current.  Cost:  $45.  Reservations required.  Approximately 3 hours.  Dress for the Weather— Cotton clothing is discouraged. This holds the cold and retains water.
